Shark Tank India 3: Pitcher Swathi reveals her journey with her baby clothing brand; Anupam Mittal jokes, “Aapne diaper pehle banaya fir baccha kiya” |

The latest episode of Shark Tank India 3 begins with tea brand pitchers Jay Sotta and Akash Sotta who came up with their innovative green tea product. They had a cup with green tea on the bottom. Their ask was Rs 50 Lakhs for 5% equity. However, due to very low sales and not a profitable business, all sharks decide to opt-out but give them best wishes to scale their market.
The second pitchers for the day were Swathi Sri Ravi Kumar and Ashwanth Sureshbabu. With their Toddler’s clothing brand. They make clothes for babies from muslin, bamboo and aloe vera. They have three SKUs: Baby clothing, baby essentials and diaper essentials. Their ask is Rs 80 Lakhs for 2% equity. Vineeta is highly impressed by the pitchers speaking in Hindi despite coming from Coimbatore. She reveals how she barely knows how to speak in Tamil. Anupam jokes, “Swathi, your Hindi is better than Vineeta’s Tamil.”
The pitchers then gave a brief about their entrepreneurship and Swathi revealed that she calls her business her baby and she conceived her daughter and started her business at the same time. Anupam says, ‘Logon ke bacche hote hai fir diaper khareedte hai, aapne pehle diaper banaya fir baccha kiya’. Namita then asks them about their sales splits, SKUs and products. Amit and Namita laud Swathi’s products.

After further grilling and understanding the unit economics of the brand, Aman, Namita and Vineeta backed out from the deal. However, Anupam and Amit were interested. Amit gives an offer of Rs 40 Lakhs in 2% equity and Rs 40 Lakhs in debt with 3% royalty till the Rs 40 Lakhs are recouped. Anupam reveals he wished to offer Rs 80 Lakhs for 10% but he is out due to Amit changing the valuation completely. The pitchers go with Amit’s deal. Anupam says, ‘It’s a no-brainer, they had to take his deal.’
